I’ve read that smart cars have plenty of room for us tall people, so I’m test driving a 2016 this weekend and I don’t wanna show up and make a fool out of myself by not even fitting in the car. I’m 6’5, and I’m worried that the newer design of the 2016 might be too small. I’m less worried about legroom, as I prefer to sit pretty close to the wheel anyways, but I just don’t want my head hitting the ceiling if I go over any bumps. Any experiences to be shared are greatly appreciated on smartcarofamerica

I am over 6’3” and have more headroom in my Smart than any car I have ever owned, and without reclining the seat a ridiculous amount!

I've been driving a Smart car for over ten years. I just recently bought a 2016. One of my best friends is 6'5" and he fit in the 2009 version. The 2016 is wider and taller than before. Just go drive it. You'll see for yourself....oh, and do a u-turn. WOW. Good luck and have fun!

I am 6'5" and have PLENTY of headroom. Easy in and out too, no ducking to avoid the head-bump. I had read that the smart has more head and leg room than an Escalade.... Go figure!!
