I have a 451 electric drive that I use to scoot around LA. I think it'd be real fun to take it off road on some of the dirt around here. Has anyone lifted this thing and gotten some meaty tires on?

On the one hand, it might ruin the drive of the Smart...On the other hand, it'd be a fully electric, heated and air-conditioned, street-legal side-by-side that costs less than a Polaris.


This looks extremely fun, but I think it involved a lot of custom fabrication:



Here's a (much) more modest 2" body lift kit for $400:



Any other routes to entertain? Has anyone actually given this hairbrained scheme a go? I'm wondering how much tire could be put under here and if any electronics freak out about it...

You would have to put a whole new running gear under a smart car. Like the video shown above. From a 4 wheel drive Polaris, retro fitted. Not to sure about a EV smart car?
