have a friend in europe. they have the auto start and stop... i saw a button somewhere, long time ago that replaces the one they have to permanently eliminate the option or at least turn it off eithout having to click each time


anyone have a clue where i might have seen this? i cant find to save my life

I am pretty sure MDC, the cruise control company makes a switch to keep the stop-start feature in the off mode all the time. May want to check their web site. Good luck.

Functions just like most Mercedes-Benz models with ECO mode in the U.S. right now. It adds complexity and cost which is why it's not on the smart right now. It would not save enough fuel during under EPA testing, so it doesn't make the cut for U.S. models. The 3 cylinder engine is already tiny enough, it's literally .89L of displacement. It just won't burn enough fuel to justify adding more cost to the U.S. smarts.

If your friends wants an option to disable/enable ECO mode on the new 453 smart, try smart MADNESS!
