well due to dealers being a little more desperate lately, snagged another 453 and this time it's a manual transmission (no sport package as the road noise was too much with the 16's)

$17,000 Retail vehicle
$9500 +TTT out the door for untitled brand new 2016 vehicle

they have one pure that would come out to like $8800, and they have primes that come out to like 10,5k, they have cabrio's that come to 15k... if anyone interested in a smart i can refer you to the dealer.

i got this guy for city commute:

I swear, these cars are as infectious as a virus or something. I can't wait to see the lowest deal someone will inevitably get on a new 2016/2017. :)

i posted the purhase order, no trade in at all.. direct buy. the 2500 was deposit on CC, only high cause thats most they would run at once.
My bad... but please be more honest with your posts so everybody on the forum is not misled by them. Your deal is a "corporate sale" which has its own sales/leasing programs that are unique to corporate owners.

You still got a great deal though nevertheless.

not a corporate sale, i purchased as individual and anyone here can do the same.. the incentives are from smart and dealer and thats the price... i do have several but dont have corporate rate.. PENFED and USAA members would have lower price as both offer $3750 incentive cash too... that doesn't take any money out of dealers pocket, but arrangement w/ MB.

It may not have been presented to you in that manner, but you were qualified under a corporate sale based on your business dealings. Same applies for USAA, PENFED, etc,. The average retail customer is not a member of the armed forces and does not work for the Pentagon...

Even if you were qualified, your deal was still phenomenal though. So congratulations nevertheless.

Mister Smart LA - can you tell me more about how the USAA program works with the dealer? I have asked several dealers about the USAA incentive on some leftover Smart electrics and got several different answers. One said it works on the 2015's, but not the 2014's. One said it works on this priced car, but not another lower priced car. Does the USAA program take money out of the dealer's pocket and is there a reason for them not to honor the USAA program and do they have that option?

Thanks.

Some incentives are for certain vehicles, but not all. A 2014 or 2015 does not qualify for any incentives at this point because there is no longer any factory support for them. The USAA incentive works for new 2016 and 2017 models only. The incentive amounts vary depending on the year and model, as well as how you intend to acquire the vehicle, i.e. via cash, finance, or lease.

A dealer has no reason to outright deny participation in the USAA program. The only reasonable explanation is if the buyer is not providing the required documentation necessary for the dealer to recoup the discounted amount for participation in the program, i.e. the certificate number that USAA generates for its member. Without strictly adhering to the program requirements, the dealer would eventually end up being charged back for not adhering to the program requirements. They are strict and must be followed to a T without exceptions or the incentive will not apply.

It is easy for a USAA member to qualify though. But anybody saying "I don't want to get the certificate number, I can tell you I am a member and that should be good enough," or, "Just take a copy of my ID and tell Mercedes-Benz I qualify, who cares about the other requirements, that should be good enough" is just not going to work.

my price was 9.7 without the USAA but they wanted me to buy 2 of them.

with USAA they said one of the "dealer incentives" did not apply BUT it would be VERY easy for them to get to 9.5k and do one at a time... (at that point i should have offered 9!) i got a friend of mine another one thru them for 8.8k after my deal using PENFED (same 3750 rebate)... the 2017 models only get like 1500$ from penfed/usaa versus the 3750 for 2016.

that being said another friend grabbed a 20k window prime for 10.5, and another a passion for 9.6k

basically can get 45% off any car on the lot w/o any involvement in any groups/etc..

I sure would like to jump on one of those to have a newer model, but with my high mileage 08 Passion I couldn't get anything in trade and I would have to sell it first, before getting a newer car. Very nice deal.

I bought my 2016 last April, with USAA, customer loyalty and trade in on my 2008 I got $5500 off on my passion. Then I went for the lifetime warranty from Daimler for $3000, all told, I'm happy with the deal, enough to get a second 2016 passion a couple months later.
