I know the smart has plastic panels, and are replaceable, but do they actually have paint or are they colored plastic that is polished and waxed in some way?

I ask because I'd like to know the best way to take car of small scratched and marks. On any other car call, I could probably 'buff' it out and polish and wax. Will this work on a Smart? Does it have traditional paint and clear coat? :smartje.bl.zw:

Some of the colors are painted, but the basic colors are MIC (molded in colors) like Black, White, Yellow. They are all covered in a clear coat that acts just like a normal car finish. They can be lightly buffed and easily waxed. I use Claybar to take out swirl marks and scratches followed by a good wax. Using a detail mist also cuts down on the static that will attract dust during the dryer months.
