We have a 2009 smart for two in Florida. We are snowbirds and the past few years my sister is in Naples year round and when we are gone for six months she drives smarty to keep the battery alive. It still has died a few times when not driven a few weeks. My sister has moved to another state and now smarty will sit for months without being driven and the battery going dead is guaranteed. If we disconnect the battery will it keep its charge? Is there any way to keep it alive for six months without driving it?
Thanks for advice, David

Even disconnected the battery will still discharge on sitting. A good battery may not hold its charge for more than a month or so. If you still have the original battery it won't even hold a charge for a month. Any good battery maintainer should work. One that has been around for many years is the Battery Tender Junior. It will keep the battery topped off but not cook it.

IF it's the original battery, you probably need a new one :)

smart electronics are VERY finicky with low batteries :(
