I'm curious, what is the overall battery pack dimension in the smart ED? I must say they did a great job hiding it out of the way and still managed 17.6 kWh with TMS. How they do it?

Nothing against my Volt, but the damn battery pack is huge running down the centre and along the back seats with only up to 17.1 kWh battery.

Does the smart use the smaller 18650 batteries lined up like Tesla? Great design btw, it amazes me.

Innovative electric drive

No, the Tesla (and cars powered by Tesla technology such as Mercedes B EV and Toyota RAV4 EV) uses 18650.

Whereas the Smart ED uses Lithium Ion "pouch" cells, 93 total in a pack which fits under the floor of the car, less than the length of the door, and just under the width of the car, and less than a foot deep.
