Looking at a 2009 Brabus, only 19,000 miles on it, owner wants $12,000 for it and won't budge. I really like the car, but looking at some of the prices on the marketplace on this site, hmmmmm...I'm thinking 'too much'. I didn't get the chance to drive it yet because the actual owner which is the husband was not home, and his wife was Leary of letting someone she didn't know drive it off. Anyway, any comments on the difference b/t the Brabus and a standard Smart would be appreciated.:)

It comes with the Radio 10 premium sound system with under the driver's seat sub woofer, which tickles your fancy. :D
Fog lights are standard as are daytime running lights which means the headlights and tail lights are on when the car is running.

Thanks for the replies, I'm thinking it's too much, I did forget to mention it was the cabriolet model. I can be patient.

A couple of corrections. The radio 10 is standard on the cabby. The coupe comes with the radio 9. Fog lights are not standard, but $110.00 extra. The US spec Brabus has 15" front wheels and the EU spec has 16" front wheels. They are Mono Blok VII. The Mono Blok VI are the older design on the EU model.

My Brabus cabrio came with the Fog lights which I assumed were part of the Brabus deal, and of course had the Radio10 which I thought came in all Brabii. I bow to the more astute, and beg forgiveness. :p

Most '09 Smart Brabus editions have been selling for $7,800 to $9,200...

There have been a bunch for sale...

Here's a current eBay listing for price comparison...

Smart Other Brabus Cabriolet | eBay
Thanks for this tip, actually I have sent an email to the seller about this Brabus, price seems pretty good, of course I will have to have it shipped to me if the deal works out. Question to the forum gang here, does anyone have knowledge of this car? Meaning was it a forum members car that got traded in? I know it would be a long shot but worth asking the question, thanks...

I wish u the best in your Brabus search. Brabus IMO is the way do go if u get a deal. Try also craigslist.com, autotrader.com, in addition to cars.com.

I bought my 09 Cabrio silver Brabus from a Dealer Feb of 12. Had 16k miles on it. Got it "OTD" for about 14k. Did I get a little bent over on it? Yeah, I believe I still owe about 10ish on it. Now has 34k on it, and I still love it. I worry about trade in, in the future, as the brabus isn't listed on any of the trade in values, I assume they will try to get you with a "its a passion with upgrades." I dunno. I "tend" to drive it till it blows up, or get bored with it. Would I like a mini cooper? Heck yeah, but everytime I get in the smart and give it gas, I forget about a mini. Do what you gotta do, but as for me, Im very happy with it, still.

When I was a Brand Specialist at SC Sugar Land, we had a LOADED Brabus that was given to a graduate student as a prize. After 350 miles, she decided the car was not for her, and she sold it back to us. We had it for $14,000 then. In hindsight, YES I WISH I HAD GOTTEN IT!! But I was still so attached to my '08!

I have an 09 Brabus Cabrio and LOVE it! I test drove a Passion first, NOT the same by far. Perhaps its the suspension and 17"/15" wheel combo, also the trans seems to shift alot better. I bought it from a dealer in March 2013 for 12.6K and it had 16,000 miles on it...Now have 25,000 miles. They paid the shipping from Washington State to Alabama. Also like the heated leather seats, upgraded stereo with sub and other features!
