Looking for some help, my main brake lights aren't working, however the 3rd brake light is working, I've checked the fuses and replaced the bulbs, still nothing, not sure where to look next as the brake light switch must be working because the 3rd brake light is working. 2013 smart fortwo

Yes all other lights work as they should, just no main brake lights

In the US version vs Europe, and/or maybe other countries the signal, emergency flasher, and brake is combined to one red bulb. In Europe they have a yellow turn signal. In the driver footwell up top there is a SAM with two relays (easily visible) that do the job of combining the signals for the US version. I guess they could both go bad at the same time but unlikely.
