The seat belt connection on the drivers side is broken. Is there a way to replace it?

One can see the wires that connected it to the floor. It seems to have just sheared off. I never had this happen to me, in any car.

Here is the part that was connected to it. the one end still snaps in place in the middle / right side of the drivers seat.

Recommend you report that to the NHTSA for starters.... Then get on the the smart USA 800 number (assuming it still operates) and get a case opened - that's a serious issue Mercedes should fix for you.

I'm having the same issue with my 2012 smartcar. The cable has frayed and its holding by 2 bits of wire.

I was wondering if TomLeeM had success getting the part repaired.

Some states warrant safety restraints up to 7 years. Our female connector on the driver side wouldn’t latch years ago.
smart replace it free. Check your state requirements.

Those all appear to be buckle side. The OP needs the driver side to the outside of the seat.
