Heads-up, at 8 PM EST, on HD Theater/Discovery Channel:
The Bugatti Veyron, possibly the most expensive production car in the world.
My guess: it won't end up in a pond... :p

That's it? Just a short vignette. About 8 minutes worth of program out of 14 minutes of airtime! I feel shortchanged... What about the manufacturing process, the technical details, etc...
Sorry, had I known I wouldn't have promote the non-event!

Well on the topic of most expensive everything, the Bugatti is NOT king...

A Maybach is built to how you say you want it, they'll put just about anything in it. Some Maybachs have sold for over 2 million...

The SSC Altimate Aero costs 1.7 million (Veyron costs 1.4) and has a top end of 257 mph (Veyron electronically limited to 253 mph), but it looks almost as bad as an A$$tec.

A Ferrari Testa Rossa was sold at an aution for over 9 million at an auction in 2009.

The McLaren F1, which remains one of the fastest cars on earth, has a top speed of 240 mph but lacks the luxuries that are found in a Veyron...it's quite bare inside a McLaren...

A McLaren F1 is worth 3+ million today...

Like many high end european sports cars, the Bugatti Veyron is hand built in France and not by assembly line. At this time Bugatti takes a loss at each Veyron that's built and sold.
