My smart car got a CEL, just after filling up. Checked with an old scanner. Found P0455. Realized I hadn't closed the gas cap completely. I read in this forum "it is possible to get a CEL caused by the gas cap and not have the loose gas cap light (an 09 and later feature) illuminate", which is my case. So I inspected, cleaned & lubed the gas cap and filler. (It all looked very good anyway). I also red you have to clear this code with a scanner. So I hooked up my trusty old "ScanGuage II". But when I pressed the button to clear codes, my scanner went blank, and the CEL remained, even after several tries. So I took it to O'Reilly, and the tech says their scanner "crashes" when they try to clear the code. Help!

Clearing Codes:

You can disconnect the battery for 30-60 minutes or the code will clear itself after 25-50 key cycles.
