charges to only 95%

several times in a row this week the car has only charged to 95% on my home level 2 charger. I thought it was getting timed out somehow because most of the time it was at 10% when I plugged it in but yesterday I plugged it at 25% and this morning it was once again at 95%. I can turn key and remove and it will finish the charge then.
any ideas? I only have 9800 miles.

Does it charge to 100% with the factory charger?

So it charges to 100% percent if you shut the car off and remove the key? Becasue you _should_ be removing the key (and locking the car if there are valuables in there) for charging.

Also, for the best battery pack life, you should avoid going below 20 percent as much as possible.
I took it to read that the car was charged to only 95% with the key out, but when the key was inserted and turned on and then off that the car would then charge to 100%.

Yes, that is what the person posting probably meant. Some kind of software error? The first thing to do would be to download a battery pack report after charging stops and and see if it is agreeing with the gauge.

Now where in the world could he/she get a test unit to get a battery packet report? :)

Turns out. the car has a built in safety feature that doesn't allow battery to fully charge when the ambient temperature is over 95. I love in Tampa, Florida and ever since we've started the daily rain pattern, cooing the day the car is back to charging to 100%.

Don't you charge overnight when it is 75 - 80ish degrees?

No, I don't. My schedules is not like most.
That's interesting stuff. Thanks for letting us know what the issue was.
I had one day where I saw the same thing. Not a full charge. Was a hot day.

That explains it.

Ya, I mostly charge overnight. Must be why I didn't notice it happening more often during the heat wave.
In Phoenix I pretty much can't do full charge for 4 -6 weeks in the summer.
