If your car lives outside all the time, I would recommend that you take a peek at the water drains below the wipers. They can get filled with leaves, pine needles and assorted other debris. Probably not a huge worry in our Smarts, because pretty much everything in the run off area is plastic, but it's still a good idea I think to check it and clean it out just to let everything flow smoothly. The underside of the drain can only be seen and accessed with the "hood" removed, but it can hold a lot of junk too.

I’ll be checking those in a bit as my smart stays outside all the time and near trees.
Last thing I want is water to get in a place it don’t need to be.
