Is there a general life span of the ignition coils? I have 90,000 miles worth of daily 60 mile round trips of hard driving to work. I'm getting miss fire codes on 2 cylinders but the car runs strong and smooth. The mechanic who diagnosed the codes for me has done several Smart cars before and told me that I probably need coils and plugs. He claims that the coils don't last much longer than 80,000 or 90,000 miles. Is he correct?
Thanks

Coils have been lasting me right around 130K miles. Smart Madness has about the best deal I have found on a set of (3) coils for $199. Just replaced mine at 136,000 with plugs.
