Cold air?? Looks like it is in the same place as stock.
Just smoother & more direct.
I would think the metal would conduct heat more & stay hot longer than plastic or rubber.
Looks good, if it was insulated,I think it would work great.
Just my opinion.

Yes, it is smoother and more direct. This intake is probably the most efficient one you can get. The metal does conduct heat but with the use of the heatshield and a short pipe, there is not enough time for the air to heat up as much as people think it does. I have done numerous tests to prove that. Insulation can only help in the beginning when the engine is not hot but when the engine is completely warmed up the temperatures will most likely be relatively close. The key is the air flow. The short pipe gets the outside air into the engine fast so there is not enough time to heat up.
