Good luck finding a diesel 450. I know of only one that someone managed to get licensed in the US....they won’t pass emissions, so they can’t be imported, I believe is how the story goes.Does anyone know if the 450 body panels are compatible with those on the 451?
I am also looking for a 450 diesel, and would like to know if some of my extra body panels will fit on a 450, assuming I am lucky enough to find a diesel.
Thanks in advance for all advice and info.
But what if there is no emission testing in your location?Good luck finding a diesel 450. I know of only one that someone managed to get licensed in the US....they won’t pass emissions, so they can’t be imported, I believe is how the story goes.

I imported a 1990 Citroen 2CV 602cc engine without issue.

I think the issue is the 25 year rule, not emissions. Your 2CV 30 years old and the oldest smart would still be newer than 25 years.
True, but since the OM636 engine is also used as an industrial engine, i am betting it could be imported. for example, the OM636 engine in the 1950s MB cars can still be imported for fork lifts, pumps and refrigeration units, as repairsI think the issue is the 25 year rule, not emissions. The last time I said I was using it for projects as yet not specified. The response was " $25 and sign here."Wouldn't you have to provide evidence of that engine being used for those applications in the US? 🙂
