I wouldn’t even bother with a Benz dealer that never sold or serviced smarts. They will tell you they don’t even have access to the files and arent even allowed to order simple things like oil and air filters. Been there, done that.

Why do you think its front rails? My cabrio has two rails, on the sides that run from the rear mechanical area to the front over the windshield. You might look for a cabrio that is being parted out. As far as closing it mechanically, if you disconnect the motors/gears, behind the seats, it may be able to slide it to the closed position.

Thanks for your reply. It’s the front guides of which I have found replacements. My daughter closed the roof with only the right side rail in place. I found bits of plastic broken off the front guides and some small springs came out of somewhere. I can’t get the rear lower roof to go down. I’m going to need a shop repair manual. Brought it to a smart dealer, they want to replace the whole roof.
