My post here will assume a stock 451 and a stock 453.

Both cars are staggered. They’re staggered like that in an effort to both reduce oversteer and reduce the risk of rolling. I do believe the setup may also have some advantages with tracking on the highway and snow driving, but don’t quote me on that.

A few differences between the two are that the 453 has a wider track, wider tyres, and a suspension that offers less body roll than the 451.

In short, straight from the factory a 453 should far outperform a 451.

why would i spend the rime trying to find one to drive when someone could just tell me


thank you MM it is so nice of you to give me an answer rather than "pass it off"

i don't know that much between models like some folks other wise i would not have asked. even if i had driven a 453 i still wouldn't have known the specifics like you pointed out....so thank you for the enlightenment

Miss M is our resident expert, what with owning a 450, 451 and a 453.....
Shhhhh! I'm still learning about the 450!

It's kinda funny that through all of this I ended up being IT at some other multinational corporation. Despite how much I love smart, I don't want to be a part of the smart USA hot mess. :D
