How do you keep the cornucopia amounts of gravel dust from the all around the door frames?
Just did a stint on gravel roads, and the dust seems to get everywhere!
Sure can't believe how the dust gets all over including even under the engine cover carpet.
Thank god for leaf blowers.

If I remember correctly a few owners installed some extra weatherstripping along the lower portion inside the doors. Nothing you can do about the engine compartment due to the open design. :)

Speaking as someone who lives on a gravel road you tend to find dust in places in a car you would never expect it to.
I normally detail my cars every time I wash them but it doesn’t keep the dust from getting back in.
Jet has a point on the stripping and I plan on doing mine soon as I can get some.
The engine bay is unfortunately going to be covered in dust due to the layout and it’s unavoidable.
I’ve never took my smart through a car wash to see if the underbody wash can do any good or not due to needing a new top for it.

I know it's not possible for a lot of people, but I won't drive my smart on gravel roads if I have a choice. The reason is because of where the engine air intake is.
Any dirt and dust kicked up by the front tires is sucked into that side intake.

I personally don’t drive on dirt road either. There was once the Mo-Kan smart car club, visited Jamesport Missouri. A amish community. We had to drive down a very dusty rock road, to get to a Amish grocery store. A good 5 miles of dirt.

One of our club members had armor all his tires, and black trim, coated brown. I Was more worried about rock chips, from the cars, in front of us. Andy, had he’s black Cabrio roof open too.
