I just noticed that the bottom plastic part of the gear shifter is cracked.
Is this a common problem on 453?
Is this repairable (is it possible to super glue it)?
Or replacing it a better option?
Thanks

By the way, it is very easy to remove the shifter knob:
1. put gear in N
2. grab and hold firmly on the bottom plastic part
3. turn counter-clockwise (2 clicks or ~1/4 turn)
4. pull the shifter knob up to remove it.

Its quite a common problem on the 453, Most owners just buy a replacement part rather than try to fix, see photo for part number.
This looks like the part for 451 shifter column (looks different from my shifter and the part number start with "A451..."). Are you sure it is compatible with 453?
My car is 453 (2016 Prime 0.9L Turbo DCT).

My temporary fix until a better solution is found!
Hope it will prevent the crack from going further down the column.
It is prettier than using rubber bands...
The OD of the plastic shifter column is 25mm and this rubber thing is 1 inch ID.

Found it! For the benefit of fellow 453 owners who prefer to replace other than repair... the part number is A4532673700.

I, however, is planning to glue it back. Rumor has it, CA glue and baking soda can do some amazing thing on ABS plastic...
The weakest area, appears to be the "top lip" of the plastic piece. I might keep my "temporary fix" forever to reduce the stress.
Here, I use it to hold the cracks together while the glue dries.

Turns out the rubber collar is just too ugly. So I do it again with black braided fish line, CA glue, lacquer spray paint...
