So the blower is fine and it cools fine, but the AC doesn't blow unless I kick the console and then it blows at full strength for about 30 secs then slowly goes to not blowing at all. It sounds like the blower motor (I know its not), but the AC button light stays on even though its at 0 (normally its off at 0) and I notice when I hit a bump it flickers. Has anyone seen this happen? If so what did you replace /mess with to make it work again? I'd prefer to not have to take it to a shop.

I had that occur in my '09 smart cabriolet BRABUS... it was a blower motor on its way out. I'd test the connector as jwight suggested, however some of the blower motor internals develops a short that leads to eventual failure.
