As per titie. Thinking about getting a second ED but a 453. I can probably live with the 85 mile range if it has a 6.6 charger. Anybody know? I think some people have already oredered one but I can't find specs anywhere.

Thanks in advance.

2017 smart fortwo ED 453

Thanks for the reply. If it is the same size battery how did they add range.
Thinking that the increased range is the result of some of the other "refinements," see below . . .

Lithium-ion battery capacity 17.6 kWh - as SuperSmartie suggests, same* as 451 ED

Output electric motor 60/81 kW/hp - 451 ED rated at 74 hp or +7 hp for 453

Torque electric motor 160 Nm - 451 ED rated at 130 Nm or +30 Nm for 453

Charging time, 0-80% at a household socket 6 hours (WEU/UK), 13 hours (USA)

Charging time, 0-80% Wall box 3.5 hours (WEU), 2.5 hours (UK/USA)

*Disappointed that there was no room for improvement in "next gen" capacity?

Does anyone know if they will have a back up camera option. Other high tech goodies? Angela would consider a second smart if its got the techy stuff. I could care less.

Yes. It's going to have some techy stuff that even the gas smarts won't have. The camera option will be one of those techy options.
