I pulled my driveshafts out to replace the seals. I replaced my left drive shaft and it appears to seat flush with the transmission no problem, but now my right on will not go back in. I appears to stick out about a half inch. Also, when I look in the transmission spline hole, there is a rod running transverse through the opening between the two driveshafts. I'm wondering if is what is stopping the driveshaft from seating. Anyone with any advice?

The pin your seeing is the cross pin that goes thru the spider gears in the differential carrier (this is normal )... There is a wire clip on the spline cv shaft to retain it in the housing and it has probably jumped out of the groove or caught on the front side of the side gear... Pull it back out and inspect...

What did you do to pull the drive shafts? I tried to do this about a year ago with a friend and I couldn't even get one out. What tool did you use?
