I just learned what this button next to my shifter actually means. What I want to know is what it actually does in terms of mechanics and performance. I have no dreams or ambitions of this car being a racer, but with some of the acceleration issues I had early on, I can see using a performance mode on the highways in Dallas. Can anyone clue me in as to how this works, what it does, and what the long term effects on power-train might be?

The “S” setting modifies shift points, allowing the motor to rev higher before going into next gear. Does not increase motor power but will get you up to speed a little faster while drinking a bit more gas.
