I have a 2009 edition limited three cabriolet Passion, the engine has to be changed; would it be better or less work to change the engine and tranny all together then just the engine ?
How many hours of work would that involve ?
BTW, I'll have it done by my mechanic that does the maintenance of all my vehicules.
Thank you

My gut feeling since part of the problem was that the tranny was not in neutral is that the transmission might also be damaged. Though that is a wild guess. I did do a parts search for wrecker motors and transmissions, screen grabs attached, I think being in Quebec you might have even better supply of wrecker parts.. I have a feeling that the parts through MB will be horrific.

You could be right but the tranny seems to be OK in "PARK" since you can not physicaly move the car but in "NEUTRAL" the car moves freely.
I've look at some videos and it seems easy to remove the rear cradle that includes all the rear end motor, tranny and even axels and wheels.
I'll try to find a front end wreck with minimum millage and get the total cradle changed and keep the spare parts.
