I need to tap into the hive mind of the forums in regards to advice on performance mods. I want to squeeze more performance out of my 451. So far Ive put these mods on .

Smart Go pedal
Bosch cold air intake
Bosch performance exhaust
External cold air scoop


I want it to go a little faster, I want a little more oomph.
I have enough money to get the stage 2 turbo kit but would that be overkill? What upgrades do you recommend? Anybody in this forum have the turbo upgrade and if so any advice?

I would like to be able to get onto the freeway with more oomph than the stock setup will give me because its almost anemic. Anything else is gravy. I want the 451 equivalent of a 500 Abarth. Not in bhp equivalent, just performance compared to the standard car.

There's not much you can do to these engines to make them that much faster. Outside of getting headers, a performance motor mount, and suspension parts...you're now knocking on the door of more hardcore stuff like ECU tunes and turbo.

I don't think turbo is overkill, it's crazy fun!

Last winter I installed the Stage II turbo kit from Speed Force Racing (8lbs boost, air-to-water intercooler) and I can say the car is utterly transformed, with a power-to-weight ratio right up there with the Mini Cooper S and the 500 Abarth. I would caution anyone, however, to focus on tire, suspension, and perhaps brake upgrades before adding a turbo. If you do that, you will have a very solid little performance car, a real pocket rocket!

I do remember him noting a slight issue with the parking brake. Not sure if it got resolved.....
No, it's still an issue, but not so bad that I haven't been able to live with it. The rears have a small built-in dedicated parking brake pad that seems well engineered, but I've found it hard to adjust to get close to the stock parking brake performance.

I don't, but a few here have some headers from DTH. IMO it doesn't do a whole lot. Makes much more noise, but not much more go.
I have the 2017 Ford passion for 2 Turbo 0.9 liter. I run a fuel additive in it I have a antifreeze that helps the coolant be colder I have a oil additive for smoother lubrication only a K&N Filter is available on the cold air box I am about to make my own box or add extra hoses in time this is a later project but I have a 3rd stage chip on it and my next step is I'm going to order a foot pedal accelerator they are hard to find for a 2017 passion for two but they have them there's a new one I'm thinking about for 200 box made in Germany the three-stage did a little bit and the K&N Filter up the mileage like two or three miles more a gallon I'd say I've got an extra 10 horse on there just to guess and it makes a difference I can't wait to do the headers in the an exhaust kit I do enjoy the noise and couple extra horsepower whatever it gets this car is like my toy location

I've heard a ECU upgrade works pretty decent to that is my final thing to do when everything is finished

You can put a stage 1 2 or 3 chip on your car too that will add some more horsepower where your foot mod adds torque I am going to buy a footmad now for my 2017 passion for 2 Turbo they do not make the good K&N intake I have to make my own for my car I'll get it done eventually how even insulate the cold air

A Pedal Commander works amazing at giving you more Ooomph. My Smart car has full hp right off the hop.

...I just love it when people talk about HP gains...be it from advertisers or "feel" ...
...HP ..calculated....or toque which is real gains are hard as heck to achieve...
...there is not one single modification ...but a combination of add on that can get some kind of noticeable increase in performance in such a small engine..
...bigger throttle body...better intake runners...bigger injectors...hotter spark...free flowing exhaust...these are some of the components you could add and play with and will yield at best 12-14 HP max...but then you're still limited by the 5900 rpm and/or 89 mph limiter....
...now you have all this goodies but the tune in the computer has not changed and it is within the computer that the mix and match of the goodies will come to life...
...all of the add on mention will change MAP...pulse width...AFR and the grand daddy EGT.
...don't be fooled by "chips" claims...or a intake hose...or a free flowing filter...
...making HP / TQ gains is not easy ...it takes know how and $$$$...

Jetfuel...nothing is free in this world unless you buy the jumbo size first....
