The engine needs to be mechanically sound. The engine needs fuel and air in the correct proportions. The engine needs sufficient spark from the ignition in the proper place at the proper time. Any of those not correct can cause the engine to fail to run. Without any sort of testing and analysis any response will be guesswork. Just because uncle Fester's Hudson did that one time does not mean your car has the same problem.
