I think we need to adopt a new English phrase. The term is EVenture. As a Smart ED owner, I occasionally see how far I can push it. I’ll do trips that push the range or I’ll do a trip where I have to charge in the middle somewhere. I’m sure there are others that do the same.

So you heard it here first. EVenture!

3 years of ED ownership and only one "EVenture" has found me dead at the side of the road.

Takes running out of gas to a whole different place! Can't walk to the station and get a gallon of Watts . . .

Now that’s impressive. I might be a little more inclined to push the limits if I knew I had a backup plan.

AAA offered that service here in the Seattle region for a couple of years, but there wasn't enough demand.

I think that's because so few people actually got stranded, and because many EV sellers (Ford included, from whom I leased a Focus Electric) included roadside assistance that would flatbed your car to the nearest dealership.
