Sounds like a nice power plant for a small car...

Ford Start Concept

Under the Start’s round nose sits yet another example of Ford’s growing EcoBoost engine family. Using direct injection and turbocharging, the 1-liter 3-cylinder power plant delivers the power of a normally aspirated 1.6-liter 4-cylinder, Ford said. According to one report from Ford, the 1-liter is slated for production.

Sure, it's got a turbo, but what about fuel management, injector size, and water/methanol injection!?! Ford really should do some research before they jump into a turbo 3-cylinder! :p

I'm loving it. You know FORD'll probably cast the exhaust manifold/impeller housing as one modular unit. Might just hook right up. Maybe the engines'll be as identical as 600 cc Japanese sportbike engines are today.
