Went really well. Intake just about jumps out of engine bay if you disconnect the "ball bracket" from below before you try to take the intake out....tons of room with that out of the way. I left it out as well, doesn't look like it serves a purpose except for the factory intake.

...ohhhh...those were the days of experimenting ...
...the cold air intakes...
...my "stubby" did pretty good...

I'm considering adding one to my car primarily to ease access to the air filter. There's no excuse for a routinely serviced item to be so inaccessible.
:(
I see eBay has them for $50+.

I've read the Injen intake makes too much noise. It is out of the question for me unless they get a CARB EO# for it anyways. Furthest I'd go is a filter swap for now, unless I want to swap in the OE intake for smog checks, (not fun)!

Agreed! I hate when it's like that! And then you're at the mercy of a dealer/shop to change it if you don't want the hassle!
