Hi Everyone!

We recently adopted a cute little silver 2014 Passion with 20k miles, after going for a few years sans car. We're fortunate to live in an area with Car2Go, which we'd been using a fair amount and discovered how much fun the Smarts are and finally pushed us to having our own. Incidentally, our neighborhood might have one of the highest concentrations of ForTwos in the country, let alone the city, with more than one parked per block on the streets around us!

Unfortunately the 02 Sensor or wiring harness is acting up, the ECM is reporting a p2237 code... Would that still be under the manufacturers warranty?

We've been trying to figure out whether we should take it to a dealer for maintenance (Manhattan, Roslyn or Englewood), or does anybody recommend a good Smart mechanic in the New York area? It's also overdue for the regular 10k checkup...

Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I'll probably take it to Englewood, as long as I can figure out a way back home if I'm stuck leaving the car overnight. That's definitely the one big plus of the Manhattan center...

The Watkins Glen rally sounds like fun and a perfectly good excuse to go to the Finger Lakes. So much delicious wine and beautiful areas to explore!

Just wanted to follow up, I ended up going to Rallye Motors in Roslyn, Long Island for the service, since I wouldn't have to deal with bridge tolls and all. They overall had much better reviews than the Smart Center in Manhattan...

All of the repairs were under warranty! They replaced the wiring harness for the 02 sensor, it looks like it was suffering from that classic issue where the harnesses rubbed. The headlights were also loose in their housings, and they replaced both of them as well. And as an added bonus, they thought one of the fans was too loud, and replaced it as well... So all around Rallye Motors was fantastic this time, and I got a free loaner orange Smart for the duration of the repairs.

The service rep told me that they've sold their last two gas Smart cars, and while they get desperate calls from people looking for them, they are getting out of the Smart car business soon. He said they plan to continue servicing Smart cars for at least the next four years.
