Just purchased a 2014 Smart ED, 10K miles. Love the whole no-gas thing. The ED handles well and is definitely suited to my around-town needs here in the Wash DC Metro area.
I'm also glad to find this forum as exchanging experiences on cars via the internet is a great help with maintenance, accessories etc.
There was no BAP on this one so I assume the first owner (a corporation) paid the $5K up front. This made the $6500 selling price a great deal. So far, the 120v charging has been workable. There are a few EV pay-as-you-go stations nearby for big refills when necessary but not enough to make it a regular habit.
