2009 Smart, USA:

Had to replace one of the headlight bulbs.

Plugged it in and the connector sparked and blew the new bulb.

Got another new bulb and put it in. Now this side, this socket only does not work.

Not sure where to look to repair only a single light when it is not the bulb.
Any thoughts what happened?

Well, if it sparked, you probably blew a fuse. Each headlight has its own fuse on a smart. So there are 4 headlight fuses in the SAM under the left side of the dash. Check there first.

Oh Yea...

This is my first Smart, and I had never heard of a car with one fuse per light. I thought "Can't be, they wouldn't have one fuse per light.

Does anyone have a fuse layout so I know which one?

Thanks

I blew a front parking light the same way, and they are also fused individually. I ended up checking continuity of the wire harness and messed around for quite a while before I figured I check the fuse. Drove me nuts :)
