Hiya from northern IL!! I'm 40-ish miles north of the city. :)

I have two 2005 G&K smarts and have a STAR machine on hand, so I can help out where needed. What fixes do you need?

I recommend also joining clubsmartcar.com as they have the vast majority of North American 450 owners in one place.

Also sign up for evilution.co.uk as it's essentially the how to guide for everything!

The car needed a crank position sensor i replaced that and it runs like a top now but when in drive weather its auto or manual the car surges at idle it also seems to be idling high at 1500rpm

My 2005 cabrio does that too, but often it's when there's an electrical load like the parking lights or headlights. Once I get the clutch actuator working again, that's the next thing on my list.

Oh, it's very much not normal. My 2005 coupe idles at 900-1k no matter what, so there's something your 450 and my 2005 cabrio aren't fond of. Maybe too much resistance in the SAM? I'll investigate once I fix the bigger issue.

Awesome! I'll look for the same on my car. :)

There are six plugs to change, here are the instructions!

https://www.evilution.co.uk/index.php?menu=servicing&mod=519 Honestly, the removal process is kinda stupid and it's another reason why my 450s are only spring, summer, fall cars. I'd replace with iridium so you don't have to do this again.

$2,700 is so good that if I didn't already have a 450 coupe, I totally would have been all over that one! lol
