My name is Tricia and this is my 3rd Smart car. First was gas powered when they were introduced to America. Then went electric with convertible. Now all electric hard top. Glad to know this Smart Car of America forum exists.
I have no idea (Im over 60) how to pose a question and receive an answer.
My question is : My "cigarette lighter" portal for charging my phone just quit. No power through it. Have tried several and none work. Anyone know of a home fix? My "dealer" is all the way in SF 30 miles North.

I would check the fuse. Look in your owner's manual to see what number fuse protects the power point circuit. If the fuse is blown, replace it with the correct amperage fuse.

phone charger not working

Ive checked the fuse but have no way of removing it. No tool to remove the fuse. sigh....

Welcome to SCoA. If all else fails, try Walmart or a local auto parts place for a fuse puller - pretty inexpensive. And 30 miles to the dealer is actually petty short, compared to some owners.
