If you don't have glass coverage, call any auto glass replacement shop and ask if they can replace the hatchback glass and when. If they say they can ask for a quote on it. Then I would ask a few other shops and ask the same. From there it's just a matter of choosing which shop. Do note that the cheapest shop may not be the best. Glass can be installed wrong. The good thing about the internet is that chances are, multiple people have already been to that shop and had the same procedure, most likely for a different car. Compare each and choose from there.

^Most likely nobody will have it on hand, but each shop might give you different prices on installation. Source price might be fixed.

Teri,

Do you have glass coverage on your car insurance? If yes, your insurance company should handle finding the glass.
A glass shop in the USA would not have that hatch glass; it would have to be sourced from MB (Europe).
It has the defrosting lines in it and a connector to plug into the body harness.
Thats it Mailman! I received a reply from a German windshield supplier who said even MB doesn’t have replacements. He did encourage me to try to find one on the secondary market.
If anyone knows of a person parting out a 2005 450 passion coupe, please contact me, OR if you know any wrecking yards that could be of help, LMK.
Thanks!
Teri

Looking at ebay.uk, there are two but cash on collection only.

A post on clubsmartcar might find one in Canada.

There's also a body shop across Airport Way from the Mercedes dealership that might be able to help or point you in the right direction. They replaced my Smart's body panel when we were hit.

Agree, Canada is probably the closest North American source (unless you find one in Mexico.)

Thanks to several folks who tried to help. I purchased a back hatch window on eBay. The shipper was a wrecking yard in Germany who claimed to have experience shipping this item. After waiting almost two months and tracking all the way, suddenly a message popped up that said the window was damaged and undeliverable. About a week later a package shows up leaking glass bits, and I open it to find the frame of the window.🙁 Got my money refunded immediately, but I really wanted the window!
