$500 a tire. Yeah. Probably lasts 6 months and it has to be replaced or they won't guarantee it to survive the high speed. No thanks.

Well that's better than a Veyron. On Top Gear they reported a set of tires for it runs $20,000.00!!! And they will only last 20 minutes at top speed.>:D

That's because the Veyron's tyres are custom made just for the Veyron.

Oh and the tyres for the newest Veyrons cost $42,000 for a set. And after two sets, the wheels have to be replaced at a cost of $69,000. They're Michelins, btw.

And the Veyron's tyres are only approved for speeds of up to 250mph. Anything further and the tyres run the risk of exploding. On dyno tests, the tyres exploded after extended periods of time going at a speed of 270mph.

That's really the only reason why the Veyron Super Sport won't go any faster than 270mph. Not because of power, not because of drag, but because the tyres just can't do it. So they electronically limit the top speed...

I wonder if the rubbers that the HP Venom rolls on can handle higher speed, or are they just risking it in the name of top speed?
