having radio interference problems on casey, my '13 451. Bought him used with hid lights, rebuilt the front end because of a bad case of rapid onset deceleration.... and replaced the stock aerial with a stubby one from smartmadness. Ever since, I can't get any radio with the lights on, and some..but less (than before) with them off. Tried wrapping the ballast/driver brick thingies in aluminum tape, put ferrite chokes on the wires, everything I found online. still a problem...

any suggestions before I try and make/find an amplifier for the antenna hahah

I’m having the same issues with aftermarket LED bulbs. The illumination is great, but when the headlights are on, radio reception drops to nothing but the strongest local FM stations. I’ve tried ferrite beads, canbus adapters and high-frequency filters. All make a little improvement, but none solves the issue satisfactorily. I’m still experimenting with finding the best balance in brightness and minimum radio interference. I have a few more bulbs on the way for further study. The solution seems to be high-quality halogen bulbs, but I just love the brightness, color temperature and longevity of LEDs.
