I had my highline radio replace since the screen broke. They put in a brand new unit but (newest firmware) BUT it doesn't show the speed limit on the streets anymore (ex 50)

Is there a way to check now new the maps are? It's a 2015 car so it would suck if I have 5 year old maps in an almost new car!

An aftermarket navi head unit at this point is a better option than the oem highline radio. Unless you have a particular preference for the color schemes and the attractive maps of the smart oem highline radio.

You can go to the user settings menu and I believe it provides information about its latest update and year of maps. Totally going off memory here, but I believe the unit provides that information.

That reminds me about holding your finger on the screen and activating the voice command/entry mode. Although I usually enter by touch, it is useful if you are moving and not so noisy in the cabin.

As brand manager I'm assuming you could register on the Bosch-activation site? I've spoken with parts and given the site address to them, only to receive news that there is no available update. The WIS instructions directed to that site for dealerships to get updates.

The menu noted the latest version on the device. I'll try to find pics I took recently on my phone and post in the next post...

That's true, I did temporarily forget about the voice control function. It was, and still is, quite awesome! I've never tried updating the navi unit via Bosch. I've never heard of that site. I have not been directly asked for map updates by anybody, so I guess have never felt the need to do so. I would probably let service handle it.

If I can never update a map, then the navigation system becomes an expensive option. Sadly the '08 3 Series in the house and '10 Cadillac CTS have stopped updates for maps as far as I know. Luckily the '09 C class has recently got a '16 update. Saddening. For smart I purchased a day subscription to smarttekinfo and retrieved the update instructions to find that website. At the top of the site is a pull down for all the different countries, but registration is only accessible to dealerships...

I asked service as well. I think, if I recall correctly, getting the same answer. I wonder if they tried going through the site...

I will do a Google search to see if I can come up with more. Maybe someone in another country was able to get a map. (It is as far as I know downloaded onto an SD card, which you insert into the radio.)

I emailed Bosch at the contact email from the site. Sadly the response was that the latest data is dated 2013. Since it is listed as 2011/2012 on mine and the site lists 2012/2013 as available, maybe you could make it a sideline business to sell it?

Totally off topic but I love your taste in cars.

What color is your 2010 cts?
