Yes I smell a rat, got an email informimg me that my car was in the dealer today from some person with whom I have had no contact with , asking me whether or not I was still interested in the car, if so make arrangements for pickup of said car. This may not seem strange to some of you, but since May 1st when the car was offloaded from the ship I have been speaking with the two salesmen and the sales manager of the dealer on almost a daily basis inquiring about my car and making sure that they had my home phone my cell, my wifes cell phone numbers correctly. I wont be able to go to the dealer for a few days but I will report back to the readers of this forum about my delivery experiance.-P.S.- maybe Iam just a little parenoid after waiting a year for this great little car, or maybe it's my untrusting Sicilian Blood that clouding my thinking:D

Hey UncleTony - I had the same paranoia after receiving an email from someone I wasn't acquainted with at the dealer, instead of the person I had been talking with. When I went to pickup the car it was like a tag-team wrestling match, with 5 different people sharing different aspects of the delivery. Every 10 minutes I was talking with someone different.

In the end I was thankful for the attention, even if it seemed disorganized.

My fear is I will get the E-mail and my spam filter will trash it. I wish I knew the root address to let the spamfilter know it is ok.

Why not just call the dealer (and not at the number in the email)? I got a similar feeling because the salesperson put down a wrong number. The dealer confirmed the existence of the individual however and all went well.

For my delivery, were involved in the process: Brand Manager, Brand Specialist, Service Manager and Finance Officer. The latter I only met on delivery day. The Brand Manager I only got to know via e-mail.
Enjoy it and many smiling miles. :)

MichaelJ beat me to the post, but he is correct. smart "salesmen", if you will, are on salary. That is why there is no pressure normally associated with car sales. Wonderful concept in my opinion. Think of them like the OB doc. They only "deliver" your baby, but have very little to do with.... well, never mind. I think you get the point.

Well before delivery this week I already knew exactly who all the folks were at my smart center Round Rock even though I did not personally meet all of them...

Most all of the centers have web sites in various stages of development... almost all of them have a contact us section with names and titles

On delivery day I have one person demo and consult on the car ...very well organized process... asked repeatedly if I had questions or concerns...was showed every system, nook and cranny, quirky techniques etc etc...

Next was Finance Manager Arik, where a no pressure offer of the "Options" was presented... then the bottom line, signatures, and final hand shake.. max 20 min...

Off for a demo ride where I was passenger, then driver, and over to the Service center where introduced to parts Manager Paul and My cars assigned Tech Vu...

Asked some questions, bought some parts, shook hands and was off with my new car... total time for delivery was under two hours most of that just BSing with staff and telling stories of the long wait and this forum..

Relative to every car bought, this was exceeding simple and painless....except for the being a non insider for 377 days... Thanks smart Center Round Rock and Arik, Marty, Paul and Vu....

Internet Brands and smartUSA ..YOU SUCK!
