That stinks, but I found out that holding a car with a deposit will help MOST of the time.

You can bet to make the sale, they told the customer looking at it, that someone else was interested and it wouldn't last. They had a live potential buyer in front of them.
I have had it happen to me many times. Even if you call, just to see if the car is available, that gives a salesperson a heads-up that someone is interested and they will use that info to make an immediate sale. Stinks but I understand it. It is the old "One in the hand, beats two in the bush."
