Hi All,

Where is the safest place to jack my smart 453 car up? I'll be using a trolley jack and then axle stands. Looks in the manual however still leaves me wondering. Any pictures would be helpful.

I’ve used the axle stands on the rear by using the supporting torsion axle ( the big U that supports the rear wheels) and it allows for a nice safe environment. Up front , I’ve used the jack and the stands in the recommended locations . I wasn’t real sure of the safety though . So I kept two floor jacks under the body just near the lower A arm mounts . I haven’t crawled under the front at all , I don’t feel comfortable there , but the rear is super stable . My preferred method is backing the car onto long ramps with the clearance to go underneath without fear of collapse.
