Try Lodging in Boulder City itself or Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino

Boulder City has a few Motels and Hotels in town, along with Railroad Pass Hotel & Casino just outside Boulder City. Plus The Boulder Beach Campground is located 1.5 miles south of Lake Mead and Boulder City, Nevada. The campground has 154 single camping sites.

Just saw a post on smartusainsider.com - 157 people registered so far!
178 now!!!And we anticipate over 200 in the weeks to come. This event has grown to be so big, and so popular, it just may become the largest meet up ever held in the United States. This is the reason why I wanted to have the Nationals in Las Vegas...but what do I know? Las Vegas is the place where the next nationals should be held, if you don't think so, keep an eye on the Dam numbers. If you only go to one major event this year, this would be the one!!! You have NO idea what we have pulled off this year and what we have planned. Keep your eyes open for YouTube!!!! Have a blessed day!!!

From smartusainsider.com:

Heading to Jam on the Dam? (Jam On The Dam - The Second Running - smart USA insider). The smart marketing team will be out at the event documenting the festivities and would love to speak with a few drivers who have unique owner experiences with their fortwo. Are you prepared to tell your smart story? Here are a few questions they may ask:
  1. People are often amazed to see much they can fit in a smart. Tell us about the largest/craziest/most surprising thing you ever carried in yours.
  2. As smart owners, we all share a connection. Tell us about a time you had an unexpected or memorable interaction with another smart owner. You know that fun moment when you pass another smart owner on the road?
  3. smarts may be small in size, but they’re big on safety. Tell us about a time when smart’s safety technology helped you or someone you know.
  4. smarts are designed to be up for anything. Tell us about the most unique, fun or memorable place you’ve taken your smart.
  5. Buying your first smart is a memorable experience. Tell us what you remember from the day you first got those keys in your hand.
  6. Is your customized smart the most interesting one on the road? Tell us about how you’ve made your car a true expression of yourself.
  7. Everyone knows that smart’s park-friendly size is convenient. But when has your smart’s “parkability” truly saved the day?
If you’re interested in sharing your smart experiences and will be attending the event (either the Pre-Jam meet-and-greet on Oct. 5th, or the Jam on the Dam Oct. 6th), send us a message or call (347) 762-7864 by WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3rd with a brief summary of your story, your contact info, and best time to contact you at: sUSAi Admin's Page - smart USA insider.

I just found out about the Jam on the Dam tonight (Sept. 27th). I live near Apache Junction, AZ. I want to go but haven't decided yet whether to just drive up early Saturday morning and attend the festivities, or try to get a room for Friday and/or Saturday night. Kind of late to assume there will be ANY room left in the area.

UPDATE! 9:43 PM Sept 27th. Just got off the phone with the Hacienda hotel in Boulder City. I booked the very last room. Not in the block set aside for the rest of the Jam-The-Dam folks, so no discount.
But hey, I'm surprised there even was any room available. See ya!

I will be transmitting on APRS radio again. APRS basically transmits my location via Ham Radio to a network which puts my location (and speed/elevation) on a map. There are Apps available (free) that will show APRS signals on your phone or even a tablet. I will be transmitting under the name SMART (what else?) and when the SoCal smarties (and I) are approaching any place, the people waiting could check their phones for our exact location. For those with computers (and you know who you are!) can follow me all the way in using Google Maps APRS and put the word SMART in the search box. Near that is another box where you can change the time you want to search back to. Hours up to days back. Each time my car transmits, a line "connects the dots". I'm leaving home about 7:30 am (PST) Friday. Another good tracking site is http://www.openaprs.net/.
For the curious, look up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_Packet_Reporting_System

We won't be coming to Jam on the Dam II, :(. Jim has accepted a job :D out of state. This means all free time this month is devoted to getting the house ready to sell and packing so no attending smart meets this month.

Have lots of fun and I'll watch for photos to be posted after the event. Who knows maybe there will be a Jam on the Dam III in 2 or 3 years. :D

:p I figured it out: I'll put a sign on the door tomorrow : GONE TO SIN CITY. Then send a text or email to Jim's work saying that he was kidnapped and will be returned on Tuesday. :D Stuff him and a change or two of clothes in Little Blue and head to Las Vegas. If I put duck tape over his mouth and tie his hands I wouldn't be lying about the kidnapping

Anyone think that would work?

OK, so it's not my best idea. But it sounds like more fun than working.:p
