As you all know, my son passed 3 years ago this month and he was a donor.

Well, Saturday a week ago, we received a letter from the woman who got Nick's liver !!! :)

She stated that she would be in the Cleveland area on Wednesday the 5th and Thursday the 6th until late afternoon and that if possible, she would like to meet us.

Well ........ USUALLY, from the time you get a letter, forward YOUR letter back, sign release forms, etc., etc., many weeks have gone by ........

WELL ...........................

Through the efforts of a LOT of people in the Organ Procurement Organization, both here in Indiana and in Ohio...................

We were able to meet at the Cleveland Clinic on Thursday !!! :D

We were met by the staff and then escorted into a room where she, here husband and 2 of her 4 daughters were waiting for us !!!

We were able to meet for about 3 hours before they had to catch a plane back to Israel .

We were under the impression that she was here for a "check up" but come to find out, they had come here JUST TO MEET US!!!! (We felt better when we found out she's a "travel agent" :))

It was wonderful to meet her and her family. This almost NEVER happens between Donor and Recipient families.

Just wanted to share the experience with all of you since many of you helped me through a very hard time :D

Thank you, my smart family :p

Too cool my friend. I know that was a very tough time for you. It makes it a little easier knowing he has helped others live a full and happy life.

I applaude you for doing that, I don't know that I could have done the same.:)
