I got a new keyfob off of ebay, It didnt come with instructions. So I attempted to switch out the internals of my keyfob which was old and had a piece broken and put it all inside a new housing.
So...as soon as the battery disconnected, it dumped my programming. I was locked out. Though I did find a way back in, now my keyfob seems useless. Is there a simple way to reprogram it?
I tried googling it and attempted some instructions(put key in ignition, start car, press lock button till you hear the lock, then get out and test it.) it does nothing. The car starts fine, but now even the push button on the dash wont lock the car. HELP.

I feel stupid! But if this helps someone else who isnt paying attention, then its worth the frustration I endured. When you assemble your NEW keyfob, battery placement is key!
I had the battery upside down. This cause me so much stress, its like 200-400 to get a keyfob programmed, I was ready to call a locksmith, but I slowed down enough to re think each step and checked a walkthrough on how to switch housings for a keyfob and voilà. I read that the plus side must be on the bottom. Lesson learned.

Glad it worked out for you. Battery replacement should not cause loss of memory or we all would be in trouble! 🤣 Been there, done that with battery polarity in a device.
