Hi all....I have a 2016 and my wife just lost the only key we had for it! I've ordered a replacement ($279) and they say that I need to bring the car to them to have it programed. ($175)
As I live about 75 miles from the dealership and the car is at my house, it would have to be towed ($250-$300).
So, on to my question...I have access to a SnapOn P1000 with the latest FULL update and it lists the Smart in the menu. Can I just use this to program my fob to my car? It does numerous other car and motorcycle fobs....
Thanks in advance...😎

There are a number of different key programmers that will work, but without a key to duplicate, only the dealer can provide the “laser cut” key pattern to fit the car’s ignition.

When you do get spares, it’s important to know that all the keys must be present to program the SAM. Any keys not programmed won’t work.

I've got both the key and fob coming from MB, I'm just in a spot as for getting them programmed. I'll pick up the key and fob tomorrow from them and try it.
