Hi all,
I just installed LED light strips to use as DRL's. Got the idea from another Smart forum member. The strips came with 3M peel and stick backing. It did not stick well due to the contour curve of the headlights. The strips kept popping up in the sharpest curved areas. Silicone glue was the final solution to get the strips to conform and stick. Wiring was fairly easy. I did not tie them into the existing DRL wiring but rather, utilized the 12V convenience outlet. They go on when the ignition key is turned on each time.
My thinking was the LED's used less power, are more modern, are brighter, and extends the life stock headlight bulbs.
