Location of SD card in 2016 Pure

I wanted to update my navigation system but couldn’t find the SD Card. After having a warranty issue repaired, I asked the Smart Service Manager at the MB dealership, where the SD card was located and he couldn’t find it either. He hit the button to remove the card but we still couldn’t locate it and I temporarily lost all navigation. Does anyone know where the SD card is located and how to access it? Online videos indicate between the seats or under the driver’s armrest but it is not in either of those locations.

An obvious question, but do you have the manual for the audio/nav system? I did see a reference for an EU car that showed the Aux, USB and SD ports in the center console....

I don't have the manual for the audio/nav system. It wasn't included in the manuals I received from the dealer but I'll look on-line for that manual, now that I know one exists. Attached is a picture of the auxiliary ports in the center console but I do not see one for the SD card.

I looked for the audio/nav manual on smartusa.com and it is not there. When I googled the manual, a manual for a different year came up. There is nothing in the Operator's manual regarding the navigation system for the 2016.

I can send you the 453 manual but it's for the European version. Here's what it says concerning the SD card:

Inserting an SD card

Click to expand...

,.. Insert the SD card into the appropriate
slot in the centre console and press until
it engages.
,.. Switch on the device.
The SD card will be recognised by the
smart media system and will be ready for
operation.

Looks like a different setup from the US car....

I agree this looks like a diffenrt set up from the U.S. car. Thank you for replying and trying to help!! The dealership didn't even bother to call me back.

I hate to even suggest this but have you tried calling the smart USA 800 number or on their Facebook page?

Did you ever find it? I'm having this same problem and now I've lost all nav data.

For the U.S. the SD card is hidden To see it you have to pop up the USB aux port assembly and remove the plastic cap. You'll see it under there

Why they hid them? I think it's because some of the U.S. Smarties were used in fleets. As such, they wanted to keep them from getting stolen maybe? But alas, there's your answer. Enjoy!
