I stopped and bought a twin pack Duracell CR 2016 batteries to replace the fob battery. I opened the fob and noticed that the positive part of the battery is to be placed in the down position. I placed one of the new Duracell batteries into the fob and snapped it back together. Tested it and nothing. I opened the fob and removed and replaced the new Duracell back into the fob, verifying that it was going in correctly. Snapped it shut and still nothing upon testing. I removed the Duracell and placed the old battery back in the fob, snapped it shut and it worked on the car (flashed only 3x for locking.) I removed the old battery again, compared it with the new Duracell and reinstalled the new battery back into the fob. Snapped it shut and still nothing. By this time, I was thinking that the off chance that the new Duracell was a bad battery. Since I had bought a twin pack of batteries, I tried installing the second Duracell battery. Snapped the fob shut and still nothing. I removed that battery and reinstalled the old battery. Snapped it shut and it worked on the car, although it flashed 8 times this time. Summary: Neither new Duracell batteries will work in the key fob, but the old battery will work, although it flashes eight times. ???
